Our Story & Approach

Every animal deserves to move comfortably, communicate clearly, and feel understood. That belief is at the heart of our work. With a background in equine performance, anatomy, and small animal rehabilitation, we deliver a calm, welfare-led service that focuses on identifying the root cause of discomfort—not just the surface symptoms. Whether assessing bit fit, adjusting bridle pressure points, or carrying out physiotherapy, each session is tailored to the animal in front of us. Every horse and pet is treated with patience, respect, and kindness, ensuring they feel safe and relaxed from start to finish.

Frequently asked questions

Got Questions? Discover the answers in our FAQ.

How long does a consultation or physiotherapy session take?

Most appointments last between 45 and 75 minutes, depending on your horse or pet’s needs. Young, sensitive, or complex cases may take slightly longer.

Do I need to prepare my horse or pet beforehand?

Yes—please ensure your horse is clean, safely tied or held, and in a suitable area for assessment.
For small animals, a quiet indoor space with enough room for movement assessment is ideal.

Will my horse need to be ridden during a bit or bridle fitting?

In many cases, yes. Seeing your horse ridden helps assess contact, comfort, and communication. If riding isn’t possible, an in-hand assessment will still be carried out.

How soon will I see results?

Many horses and pets show improvement during the first session, while others benefit gradually over a few appointments. Every animal is different.

Do you sell bits or bridles?

Yes—recommended bits or bridles can be supplied if needed. However, many horses improve simply through correct adjustments, not new tack.

Does physiotherapy replace veterinary care?

No. Physiotherapy is complementary to veterinary treatment. If we believe your horse or pet needs veterinary, dental, or saddle-fit attention, you will be advised before treatment continues.

Which areas do you cover?

We cover Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, and surrounding areas—based around Retford, Nottinghamshire.

How often should my horse or pet receive physiotherapy?

This depends on their condition and goals. Routine maintenance is usually every 6–12 weeks, while rehabilitation cases may require more frequent sessions.

Do you offer yard visit discounts for multiple horses? Yes

Yes. Multi-horse bookings and yard days can reduce travel costs and overall fees.

What if my horse or pet is nervous or difficult?

That’s absolutely fine. All sessions are carried out calmly and at the animal’s pace. Welfare comes first, and no animal is forced into discomfort.

Can I book both fitting and physiotherapy together?

Yes. Combined sessions are available and often helpful, particularly for performance horses or horses with tension-related contact issues.
